The Day Was Enough

The Perfect Bite

It’s just me and the birds tonight,
standing on the edge of the day
as the sun begins to disappear.

They’re busy—moving, searching—
but everything still feels calm somehow,
like the world knows it’s time to soften.

I didn’t realize how much I needed this—
to stop,
to watch something end
without rushing ahead.

The sun slips away,
and I feel it in my chest—
that quiet, steady kind of peace.

The birds will leave soon,
full enough, I hope,
heading somewhere safe to sleep.

There’s comfort in that—
in knowing the day was enough.

And tomorrow,
we begin again.

Nothing complicated.
Just another chance
to live simply,
and feel a little joy.

Maybe this is what enough feels like.

Have you ever had a moment like this?
